Should You Worry About Failing a Drug Test if You Use CBD?

While CBD is becoming more and more popular in health and wellness circles, there are still a lot of questions and misconceptions about it. One of the most common concerns that people have is the possibility of failing a drug test. After all, when you’re working hard to take care of your health, the last thing you want to do is risk a positive on a drug test because of a health supplement.

At Nature’s Ultra, we want to assure you that you can safely use our CBD products without the fear of testing positive on a drug test. In this article, we’re going to go through some common questions about CBD and drug testing to set your mind at ease when you purchase Nature’s Ultra CBD products.

CBD vs. THC

To understand whether or not CBD will show up on a drug test, it’s important to know the difference between CBD and THC. CBD is short for cannabidiol. It’s a natural cannabinoid that’s found in hemp. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is also a cannabinoid naturally found in hemp. Both CBD and THC interact with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). However, unlike CBD, THC is psychoactive and thus causes euphoric side effects. That’s why products that contain THC are illegal in many states, while CBD products that contain no THC are not.

Does CBD Get You High?

THC and CBD both come from the same plant, so does that mean both could get you high? Nope! Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive. It does not cause the euphoric effects that THC does, and thus does not get you high. Keep in mind that this is dependent on the purity of your CBD, so it’s important to ensure that the CBD you use contains 0% THC.

Is CBD Addictive?

Of course, experiencing a high isn’t the only concern you may have regarding CBD. Many people worry that they’ll form an addiction to it. But according to this 2018 World Health Organization critical review of cannabidiols, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” As we mentioned above, CBD is not psychoactive and does not cause euphoria. Because there are no euphoric side effects to CBD, you can safely use it without forming a dependence on it.

Are Hemp and Marijuana the Same?

There are so many terms related to the cannabis plant that it’s easy to get confused! Now that you’ve mastered the difference between CBD and THC, let’s tackle another pair of words that are commonly confused: hemp and marijuana. Hemp and marijuana are technically the same plant (Cannabis), but there is a big difference when it comes to the level of the psychoactive compound THC. Hemp plants contain no more than 0.3% THC, while marijuana plants may contain anywhere from 5 – 20% THC.

Due to its extremely low THC content, you cannot get high on hemp the way you would if you used marijuana. That’s why it’s legal to grow hemp while it’s still illegal to grow marijuana in most states.

Will CBD Show Up on a Drug Test?

And finally, for the million dollar question: will CBD show up on a drug test? To answer this question, it’s important to understand exactly how drug tests work and what compounds they are looking for.

Most drug tests are urine tests. When you’re tested for cannabinoids, what they’re really looking for is the psychoactive, euphoria-inducing THC compound. If a certain threshold for THC is detected in your urine, you will test positive for cannabinoids. As long as your CBD products contain no THC, they will not trigger a positive drug test. That’s why it’s essential to purchase high-quality CBD products from reputable companies who test to ensure their products contain no THC.

As we mentioned in our earlier blog post this week, there are three basic types of CBD: Full spectrum CBD, broad spectrum CBD, and CBD isolate. Full spectrum CBD products are extracted from the cannabis plant with all of the plant’s other compounds, including terpenes, essential oils, and other cannabinoids. That means these products contain THC. Broad spectrum CBD and CBD isolate, on the other hand, do not contain THC. That’s why Nature’s Ultra CBD products begin with a CBD isolate that we then combine with Young Living essential oils to create our very own high-quality smart spectrum CBD.

To make sure that our CBD products contain no THC, we commit to quality at every step, from our farming practices to our manufacturing processes. Our partner farm allows us to grow the highest-quality hemp, and our extraction methods ensure that our CBD is pure and free from any THC. Our cultivation processes are Young Living Seed to Seal® certified, which means we reach the high standards set by the world’s leader in essential oils!

Once our CBD gets to the manufacturing process, we test rigorously for both potency and purity. Our quality assurance program ensures that all of our CBD is high-quality and free of heavy metals, solvents, and THC. Click here to go through our purity lab report, which shows that our CBD is potent, pure, and completely free from THC!

Once our CBD has been rigorously tested, we combine it with Young Living essential oils. This combination of a high-quality CBD isolate and world-class essential oils creates a broad spectrum CBD oil. That means you get to enjoy the health benefits of both CBD and essential oils in one powerful product. And most importantly, you can use it safely and fearlessly, as all of our products are free from THC and will not cause you to test positive on a drug test!

It can be intimidating to start using a new health product for the first time, but we hope this article has set your mind at ease when it comes to CBD and drug testing. You can see our full list of products here and place your order confidently with the knowledge that they all contain 0% THC!
